In general function it is a hotel, but not only for reception of senior naval officers and for training the raw recruits, it also opening to ordinary visitors.

The hotel’s design style is based on Navy, which is easy to be found through architectural style and internal decoration. It has strict framework of the organization and its function system.The ancient Chinese vessels sail is combined with hotel’s modern architecture style. The guest rooms through a main axis (i.e. mast of the sail) are distributed in four wing bodies. Rooms are arranged in picturesque disorder in order to make most of the rooms have a beautiful harbor view. The extending main axis connects a little red chamber and leads to an underground tunnel. This tunnel comes to the beach club and restaurant. The tunnel takes different lighting effects. The exhibits on tunnel wall show the naval history and vessel pictures. It causes a passer-by an abnormal experience and feeling. The beach club and restaurant are built along the shoreline. The building shape is like the wave shape covered under a circular roof. The purpose of the design not only consists in reduction of wind impact but also having a good visible zone of sea view. Two paths pass through the buildings which is good for viewing. Furthermore, they approach to the sea, becoming a ferryboat-docked pier.
